Bethesda Game Studios seems determined to make Starfield its biggest game to date, and while that is obviously going to be reflected in its depth of systems and the amount of content it will have on offer (or so we hope, at least), the developer is also working to ensure that Starfield supports the vibrant modding community even better than the studio’s past games have in the past.

In a recent interview with Kinda Funny, director Todd Howard called the upcoming space-faring RPG a “modder’s paradise”, confirming that the game will continue to cater to that sizeable portion of Bethesda Game Studios’ community.

“I think Starfield is going to be kind of a modder’s paradise,” Howard said. “It’s part of our DNA here, we’ve been doing it for over 20 years, and [we have] our community around that. We’ve usually been classically single player, that has been our community, and people are still modding our games and playing them. So we’re doing a lot of it.”

Howard went on to say that with Starfield, Bethesda Game Studios is once again looking to go beyond its support for the modding community than simply providing players with the tools they want, and will instead look to actively engage with it. That could also come in the form of job opportunities at Bethesda itself, which has, of course, Bethesda Has Hired One of the Developers of the Fallout: London Mod (gamingbolt.com) as well.

“One of the things that I’ll call out is, it’s important for us not just to enable that, but to participate,” he said. “To make is easy for them, to make this where they can make it not just a hobby, but a career. We’ve had a lot of great success there. So [we’re] looking forward to what everyone can do with Starfield.”

Starfield launches on September 6 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
